Ed Okun prefers the 1:32 scale, because of all the details that can be included.

Mr. Ed Okun is a great fan of Arab MiGs, consequently - on seeing the colour profile #27 in the book "Arab MiG-19 and MiG-21 Units in Combat" (Osprey, 2004), he repainted his Revell 1:32 scale MiG-21 that was in his collection for a long time, and freshened it up with this new paint sheme and markings of the Syrian Air Force. The results are - simply expressed - marvelous.

While reworking his model Ed also revised the cockpit area with new, scratchbuilt SM-1 ejection seat, replacing the inaccurate KV that was originally there (that one will be saved for the future project of an Iraqi MiG-21MF in 1:32 scale).

Beside this MiG-21, Ed sent us also several photographs of his other models, foremost an excellent F-4E, and an A-4H:

Sometimes Ed goes a step further. His models are not glued to the ground forever: sometimes they can fly - or at least this is possible to do if they are properly presented!

This 109/Valley Squadron IDF/AF A-4H from period 1968-1973, was built by Yoav Erafati: Ed set it into a life-like background, over the Dead Sea, near Ein Gedi - with some excellent results!

The photographs above came into existence during some experimenting with the MocrograFX software. Ed used the airbushing tool to alter the scheme in few cases, but otherwise the models were left unmanipulated: the 1:72 scale MiG-15 was built by Yoav Efrati; Ouragan was built by Ed several years back.

We are very much looking forward for Ed's future projects, which include an Iraqi Hunter F.Mk.59!
