ACIG Modeler's Corner
Roel is building aircraft and warship models, with a special predilection for specific Soviet/Russian warship designs being obvious.
Two models of Project 636/Kilo-class submarines dominate Roel's collection (on the first photo an example in typical colours can be seen, together with a Gepard-class patrol vessel, made from 1:144 Revell kit; the second photo shows a Chinese Kilo-class, made from 1:144 Trumpeter kit)...
...together with Soviet aircraft carrier Minsk, built from 1:550 scale Trumpeter kit:
Another nice addition to his collection is Nastovchiyiy, a Sovremeniy-class destroyer in 1:200 scale, built from Trumpeter kit:
Two other nice pices in Roel's collection are USS Tarawa (in the background on the picture bellow), built from 1:700 Revell kit, and JMSDF Shimokita, built from 1:700 Tamiya kit from Waterline Series.
An certainly imposant addition to any collection is a 1:72 model in the size of this Tu-22M-3, built from Italeri kit. This kit is pretty poor, with lots of inaccuracies, and it takes a lot to be corrected into anything like a useful model, but put together it makes a good-looking piece - especially when accompanied with Kh-22/AS-4 Kitchen missile!
